Upptik Community Guidelines

Welcome to the Upptik Community!

Welcome to Upptik! Our Community Guidelines ensure that everyone has a positive and productive experience. By participating in our community, you agree to follow these guidelines. Please also review our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for more detailed information on your responsibilities and rights.

Upptik is a vibrant and productive space where high school students, mentors, and creators share experiences, insights, and support. Each of you plays a unique role in building a community where everyone can experience personal growth, creativity, and purpose.

Our Community is Built on Respect.

We do not allow cursing or profanity, including subtle or abbreviated profanity (e.g., “f***,” “wtf, STFU,”) hate speech, bullying, flirting, sexual content, violence, or unsafe behavior of any kind. Be kind, be real, and keep things appropriate for a space built for students and minors, mentors, and supportive peers.

Understanding Our Users

  • High School Students: You are at the core of Upptik, which is here to support you in designing your best future.. Here, you connect with mentors and creators, access valuable guidance, and share your own journey to help and inspire your peers, as you, in turn, are helped and inspired..
  • Mentors: Ages 19 to 26, you may be in college, a trade school, already in the workforce, or pursuing varied experiences. You provide mentorship, create enriching content, and, in return, gain access to the platform and are paid for mentor sessions.
  • Creators: You enrich the platform and provide mentorship by consistently uploading helpful content, and as a reward, you enjoy  free platform use, as well as perks, and cash prizes. Your contributions help mentor and inspire all users, especially Upptik’s high school students.

Be Respectful

  • Support Across Stages: Whether providing guidance or sharing challenges, engage respectfully. Your words can inform, uplift, and empower a peer or a student to step into new experiences and take meaningful actions. But just as easily, words have the power to discourage others, so always share wisely.
  • Empathy and Understanding: Recognize the diverse backgrounds and paths within our community. Offer encouragement and support that’s tailored to individual needs and stories.

Be Authentic and Professional

  • Genuine Interactions: Share your real experiences and advice that’s worked for you.. Authenticity fosters trust and builds a foundation for meaningful mentorship and guidance.
  • Professional Conduct: Whether in casual chats or formal mentor sessions, maintain professionalism to ensure a constructive environment that’s conducive to learning and growth.

Stay Safe

  • Zero Tolerance for Harmful Behavior: Bullying, gossiping, harassment, and discrimination are strictly prohibited. Upptik is a safe space with construction sharing  for all to explore and grow without fear.
  • Privacy and Safety: Handle personal information with care, whether yours or others. Where possible, avoid sharing another’s story or information, unless you have their express consent.

Focus on Educational and Career Growth

  • Stay On Topic: Keep discussions focused on educational, work, or career paths and development, including life transitions. Engage in conversations relevant to navigating high school, post-secondary education, and entering the workforce.
  • Facilitate Growth: Share resources, ideas, hacks,  and experiences that provide practical advice and insights. Post content that supports the community’s educational and professional aspirations.

Engage Constructively

  • Constructive Feedback: Provide thoughtful and constructive feedback. Be a positive force in someone else’s journey.
  • Sharing Success and Struggles: Encourage one another by sharing successes and struggles. This helps everyone feel less alone and better equipped to deal.

Content and Engagement

  • Content Creation: Creators and mentors, your content drives the community. Make sure it is informative, appropriate, and aligned with Upptik’s user development goals.
  • Active Participation: Engage in discussions, respond to questions, share, and participate in community activities. Your active involvement enriches the community experience for everyone.

Actions and Enforcement

  • Moderation and Oversight: We monitor the platform to ensure all interactions and content meet our guidelines. Inappropriate behavior or content will be addressed according to the seriousness of the violation.
